Petter heter jeg, kom til Beitostølen som bartender i oktober 1976. Jeg kom hurtig i kontakt med miljøet tilknyttet Beitostølen skiskole. I november 1979 reiste jeg til Geilo for å ta ski instruktør eksamen hos

Arne Palm. Den gang var Langrenn/Telemark obligatorisk så 2 uker totalt.

Jobbet da som instruktør i tre sesonger før jeg gikk opp til ski lærer eksamen i april 1982. Jeg må jo si at disse årene har vært utrolig givende, man går dypere og dypere i sakens kjerne og får større og større forståelse for det man holder på med.

Fra tidlig 80-tall og frem til carving skiene kom så tilbrakte jeg nesten all min private ski kjøring på telemark ski. En utrolig frihets følelse!!! Men må jo innrømme; når carving skiene kom så ble jeg nyforelsket i slalom ski igjen.

En ski instruktør har bare EN oppgave: Å være genuint interessert i å lære fra seg den samme lidenskap til ski som man selv har. Klarer man det så så har man lykkes.

Helt til slutt vil jeg få takke min mentor på ski, Lasse Dehle, som var daglig leder når jeg begynte. Et privilegium å få jobbe sammen med han i mange sesonger. Jeg hadde ikke vært hvor jeg er i dag uten hans veiledning. Tusen takk, Lasse

Petter is my name and I arrived in Beitostølen as a bartender in October 1976. I rather quickly came in contact with the people at Beitostølen ski school and in November 1979 I went to Geilo to attend a ski instructor course at Arne Palm ski school. Back then you had to do both alpine and cross country/telemark skiing to get your instructors exam so I was there for 2 weeks. Worked three seasons as an instructor before I got my ski teachers exam in April 1982. It has been some amazing years. You constantly develop your skills and get a deeper and deeper understanding of the work you do. From the early eighties and until the carving skiis came along I spent all my free time on Telemark skiis, what a feeling of freedom. Loved it. But I must admit that when I first tried the carving skiis I fell in love all over again.

To teach skiing is all about ONE thing: To be genuinely interested in helping people experience the same passion for skiing that you have yourself. You manage that and you have done your job very well.

Finally I have to thank my mentor in skiing, Lasse Dehle, which I had the privilege of working with for several season. I would not be where i am today without his tutoring skills. Thank You, Lasse

Update 

The last 5  years, approx, I have been working inside at the booking office, alongside Agneta.

Due to my health issues.

Being a pensioner I enjoy working with Agneta and I work when needed, mostly during the winter season.
